About the College House
42B College House is a BBH backpacker’s hostel situated in the heart of Whanganui. The building was built approximately 80 years ago. For more than a decade it served as an accommodation facility for a High School. In this period it got the name “College House”. The house then became a backpacker hostel keeping the traditional character and architecture, as well as the great location. The hostel resides in an ideal spot for easy access to all major local attractions. This includes the Waitahinga Trails, as well as the town center, supermarkets, the iSite, and local travel hubs.

42B College House has a friendly, homely environment with comfortable social areas, a spacious kitchen, and a beautiful sunny garden. As a guest, you can enjoy their social recreation area with table tennis, pool table, piano, and games. 42B College House offers well priced, but quality accommodation for the budget-oriented traveler, as well as for backpackers and groups.
