A fun family idea over a lunch
The brothers Peter and Trevor Weir and their families are the owners of the now-famous Rotorua Duck Tours. It all began during a Christmas lunch. An idea came up to use an amphibious WWII landing craft as a vehicle for tours. They launch their first ever touring in Rotorua in December 2003. Following a huge success, they purchased their second duck. Eventually, their third duck is now preparing for its kick off.

Riding our WWII amphibious vehicles takes you to a different level of excitement. It can effortlessly move from water to land. Whether you are into history or you want to explore the beauty of Mount Tarawera, or you’re looking something fun to do in Rotorua. There’s no better way than touring with our ducks. Furthermore, we are keen to comply with the New Zealand Land Transport Association (LTSA) and the Maritime Safety Authority (MSA) safety regulations to ensure our passengers’ safety.
