Tamara Riverside Lodge is a spacious Edwardian villa built in 1904 as a large private home. It has been used in a variety of ways over time including a boarding house and a private hotel. It also served as a maternity home called Cairnbrae for 30 years. In 1993, it became the Tamara Riverside Lodge and has evolved to be a place to return to. This elegant lodge enjoys an outstanding location on the banks of the majestic Whanganui River with views of Mt Ruapehu. Tamara Riverside Lodge is less than a 10-minute walk to central city, shops, banks, cafes, restaurants, art, and culture.
A variety of accommodation to choose from
The Tamara Riverside Lodge strives to offer a superior standard within the Backpacker category of accommodation. You will enjoy style, serenity, and space while still located in the heart of the city. The laidback lodge with shared and private rooms comes with free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms.
