Braemer House formerly known as Riverside Inn, has had an interesting history. This has then made it one of the most selected staycations right in the heart of the Whanganui region. Inspired by their simple country lifestyle, current owners, Calvyn and Alice, and their daughter Claire, took over the Bed and Breakfast and YHA Hostel last January 2017.
Accommodation Options
Braemer House offers two types of accommodation. First is the YHA Hostel. Staying in hostels is one of the best things about backpacking. At Braemar, you will experience one of the best hostel accommodations in town. You’ll meet heaps of new people and share experiences that you’d never get the chance to do when traveling alone.
The other type is the Bed and Breakfast Wing. “Bed and Breakfast” is their most popular service. Choose from their eight elegant rooms, each has a hand basin and they are outfitted in an exquisite period style. Some rooms lead through french windows towards the veranda, with comfy seats and a view of the Whanganui waterway. You’ll wake up to nature’s splendor in full view right outside your window. Breathe in fresh, unpolluted air from the abundant trees that surround the property. All rooms are equipped with television, DVDs, and Wifi connection. For further enjoyment, you may also play games and cards or read books at the mini library. Parking space is also available.
