The key details we require are the meter type installed on your property and how many kilowatts (kWh) are consumed in a 30 day period.

Understand & Reading our Power Bill

Your Meridian Energy bill contains all the relevant information regarding your electricity supply and account.

 

On the first page you will find your customer and invoice numbers, the address that the electricity is supplied to, the balance owing and the due date.

If you are requesting to switch retailers, you will be required to supply your ICP number. This is a unique identifier of your properties meter and enables the new supplier to locate all the necessary details regarding your electricity supply.

If you are currently with Meridian Energy, this number can be found on the first page in between the invoice number and due date on the top left hand side of the page. It is a 15 digit number which typically starts with 0 and will contain a couple of letters towards the end.

On the back of your bill or on the second page if you receive your Meridian bill by email, you will find your pricing plan. This information is required in order to give you an accurate comparison. The pricing plan is directly related to the type of meter you have installed at your property.

You will see a box titled Current Charges.

The first column on the left, titled Description is where you will see your pricing plan. It will be listed as Meridian Plus- then one of the following:
